Putting On the New Self Pt1

Scott Risley
Ephesians 4:20-28

When you become a Christian, God gives you a new identity. In Christ, the old has gone and the new has come. But you need to believe and live out that "new you." As you keep your eyes on Jesus and that truth, God will renew your mind and transform your character as you learn to walk in love. As people see the transformation in you, God will get the glory.

Choosing to Live Out the New Self pt.2

Chris Hearty
Ephesians 4:26-32

Paul tells us be righteously angry, but to forgive one another and watch out for Satan's schemes. Our speech should be used to build up the body of Christ.

Exchanging the Old Self for the New Self

Dennis McCallum
Ephesians 4:21-28

If you are forgiven in Jesus, you have a new birth, a new identity. This new birth means you have to believe and live in that identity. Believing and living in this new identity releases God's power to transform your mind which leads to living a life of love.

Living Out Your New Identity in Christ

Conrad Hilario
Ephesians 4:17-19

Living out your new life in Christ involves not living as the world lives, in the futility of their mind, but knowing that only God gives real meaning in life to anything we do. He gives us significance and value. He ensures that suffering has a purpose. Are you living in such a way that distinguishes you from the world?

Life Without God

Scott Risley
Ephesians 4:17-19

Everyone who rejects God, has made a decision of the will to ignore the evidence God has given people to know He exists. This leads to a darkening of their minds where they cannot understand the significance of their rejection of God. This leads to being cut off from the life God wants to give them. To reject God is to reject the good things He wants to give us. This ultimately leads to living a life of calloused self-indulgence which will never satisfy the deep desire in their hearts that only knowing God can fulfill.

Labor Day

Conrad Hilario
Matthew 11:28-29

Labor Day was created to celebrate the Labor Movement but now is more seen as a day to relax and rest from the demands of work. The modern world is full of demands and pressures that cause many of us to work hard to to live up to a standard, to prove we are enough and even determine our identity. But Jesus offers a better way. Jesus offers rest from the weight of sin, worry, and anxiety. His rest offers a secure standing before God and relief that our identity is anchored to something stable.

Enemies of the Cross

Gary DeLashmutt
Philippians 3:17-4:1

Materialism defines fulfillment and security in terms of material possessions in this life. Christians in this present world are particularly vulnerable with the massive cultural pressure to engage in materialism. To resist this pressure, Christians must cultivate deep convictions about Jesus' return and His eternal kingdom, see through materialism enough that they are emotionally affected by its impact, and prioritize and treasure fellowship with committed Christians.

Experience New Life

Chris Hearty
Ephesians 4:17-24

Without God, humans have no point of reference for meaning or morality. Paul urges us to live out our new identities, not resorting to our old ways of living.
