If you want to make an impact in this world, you must start with asking God for eternal life. Then, share it boldly with others. Follow Paul's example of holding forth the Word of God and seeking only to please God. Learn to love with tenderness as well as toughness when needed.

God promises that suffering in this life will bear fruit in this life as well as the life to come. We can be encouraged by this because we know that whatever we endure is nothing in comparison to the glory to be revealed in the next life. If we fix our eyes on the unseen realities to come, we can bear up under the sufferings this world has to offer.

Is There Good Evidence That Jesus Rose from the Dead?

All of the claims of the Christian faith hinge on whether Jesus rose from the dead, as the Bible claims. An honest evaluation of the the evidence--early sources, the empty tomb, the nature of Jesus' execution, the surprise of the resurrection, and eyewitnesses--leads one to see that it is a reasonable thing to conclude. If true, it opens the door for us to believe and receive Jesus' offer to give us eternal life, something we can never earn for ourselves through good works.

The Mind-set of "Alien" Christians

Unfortunately, they rarely live up to even their own mediocre standards, but more importantly, they can never meet God's standard for Plan A, which is utter perfection. Fortunately, God has Plan B, which is approach Him like a child and receive eternal life as a gift.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-11

Under the sun, or apart from God, life on this earth is enduring the time between birth and death. What if there was a way to overcome death, to get safely from "now" to "eternity"? The eternal Son of God entered "now" to open a way for us to enter eternity and overcome death. When one takes the first step by getting right with God, one can then live with meaning and purpose because one's actions now have eternal significance. One can now enjoy life and live wisely, knowing there is a God. One can now see life from His eternal perspective and look forward to a wonderful afterlife.

If God does not exist, then life would just be meaningless toil until we die. Youth, beauty, health, all are fleeting. Nothing endures. But God does exist and has planted an awareness of eternity in our hearts. We know we were created for much more. God is real and He does have a plan for your life. This gives real significance and meaning to our lives when we put our faith in Jesus and not in the things of this world.

In a world without God, King Solomon asserts that time is just a countdown until death. But because God does exist and he has planted eternity in each of our hearts, each one of us will give an account to God for everything we have done. Those who put their trust in Jesus will pass out of judgment and into eternal life with Jesus. That gives meaning and significance to the choices we make now.
